INTRODUCTION
The naming of a clan is a very sacred process. It is not dictated by the creativity alone of the facilitator, but is rather more of a download of information that best represents the existing energy of the group as a whole. Through intuition, meditation, inspiration, imagination, observation and deep listening the clan is named, not by a human, but through a human by the unseen energy source that connects us all one to another.

Although human issues are universal, what is so amazing about the dynamic of each clan is that the particular members of a clan hold a piece of each other's puzzle. Upon first appearance, this may not seem so, but the wheel is a study in this very principal, as we all get exactly what we need, exactly when we need it, in perfect order, every time. The people come together, time after time after time in service to each other.

We are but reflections of one another, until we are reflecting only what is inside of our heart of hearts. For it is then that we are not so much reflectors, as we are receptors and projectors. It is then that we are projecting the most essential part of our highest and finest selves from the very core of our being. And so it is wise to pay attention to everything and everyone that comes into your space. Let no blessing go unnoticed and no message go unheard. Be not fooled by the wrapping paper on the gift.

SILVER BIRCH TREE’S POWER
The Silver Birch Tree is the keeper of many qualities which greatly assist the evolution of humanity as she stands in service to the Light, to people and the earth. Some of the words for the Silver Birch include pioneer, beauty and grace, renewal, and purification. Silver Birch wood burns wet or dry and very hardy, but requires a great deal of light at its crown. Not only is Silver Birch wood, bark, sap and leaves used for many practical purposes, she is also among the most stately of trees, in lore known as, Lady of the Wood. Think Galadriel, of Lothlórien, fairest of all elves and you will understand the essence she keeps.

Beithe, the Celtic birch, is the first tree of the Ogham, the Celtic tree alphabet. It was celebrated during the festival of Samhain (otherwise known as Halloween), the start of the Celtic year, when purification was also important. Bundles of birch twigs were used to drive out the spirits of the old year. Gardeners still use the birch besom, or broom, to 'purify' their gardens. Besoms were also of course the archetypal witches' broomsticks, used in their shamanic flights.

Interestingly, the birch also has strong fertility connections with the celebrations of Beltane, the second, summer, half of the Celtic year (nowadays celebrated as May Day). Beltane fires in Scotland were ritually made of birch and oak, and a birch tree was often used as a living maypole. As birch is one of the first trees to come into leaf, it heralds the emergence of spring. This gives birch strong associations with new beginnings and new opportunities.

Deities associated with birch are mostly love and fertility goddesses, such as the northern European Frigga and Freya. Eostre (from whom we derive the word Easter), the Anglo Saxon goddess of spring was celebrated around and through the birch tree between the spring equinox and Beltane. Birch is ruled over by Venus - both the planet and the goddess.

The Silver Birch is here specifically to bring us to our higher angelic nature and to help us assimilate this part of ourselves into the physical. When you hear the call of Silver Birch, you are responding to the request of your soul to become one with Spirit and to transform your Spiritual Warrior aspects into more grace-filled, higher vibrating, highly creative energies. This is taking your personal power to an entirely new level, one in which you may have not ever totally imagined. Is it possible to be a being of the Light on planet earth, you may ask? SILVER BIRCH SAYS…
There is no simple, nor less dramatic way to say this. You have reached the center of your Self, you have touched your Soul, you have been given a potent glimpse of the reality of your being or are very close to it and you are ready to receive your true angelic nature into the totality of your being. What you understand about angels may be relatively intellectual at this time, even if you have worked with them to a certain extent. What you may not realize is that your physical body is a vessel for the Light…and you are the Light. You are the intention of a cosmic force so powerful and so true that there is no way that you can fail. This is your next evolution and in fact the next evolution of all humankind. Owning your light is not egoic, not owning it is. You don't belong to yourself alone, you belong to the world.

Forget what you may think you know about angels who live in the heavenly realms. You are a creature that entirely stands alone in the cosmos, a marriage of the most divine order. You are a human angel. You are a Rainbow  - hue-man – a fusion of color (light spectrum) and sound (vibration). You are the culmination of Earth, Water, Air and Fire + ether. The ether or Spirit that enlivens your being is actually the upper realms of the nature spirits that are accessible to you here in the physical and are supporting you. They watch and they listen to your spirit’s communication. They respond by sending you messages through the natural world and your intuition. Trees broadcast information through their roots and branches, much like humans broadcast and magnetize through their thoughts and feelings.

Silver Birch says, I am not the only being who can assist you at this time. You are becoming one with the earth in consciousness, ascending with your feet on the ground. And you move well through the realms of magic, mystery, beauty and intrigue. You are here to bring the earth to the depths of the experience of love and beauty. To help the world embrace mystery and the unknown joys that lie ahead. As the world moves out of suffering and edges at the precipice of bliss, you are part of the band of earth angels who can show the world what wings are for. You will be among the first to fly in this new order of angels. And you will do so with charm and grace. Your wings will create a magnetic field of epic proportions and other will want to fall into a state of grace, as well. You will help make this not only possible for them, but attractive to them. But first you must complete your own transformation.

The Elven race, the keepers of the Lady of the Wood, is guiding you through the power of your imagination, your creativity, your compassionate and loving heart and the Eternal Will to Good that is deeply embedded in your angelic nature. This compassion may have been your undoing earlier in your human existence, and in other emanations, but that was simply a part of your process. In this time, here and now, in your physical incarnation as an earth angel – your compassion is your greatest strength. For you have learned the great secret; you must first be compassionate with yourself.

This is how the incarnation becomes completed as you set this vibration up within the holy of holies within your heart. Any last vestige of judgment or harm to the self, any disparaging thoughts about your journey will leave you now as your true Light burns brightly and the Truth of Who and What you really are shines through. As you feel the full ramifications of what has been being born within and through you, you will be bowed and humbled, for truly all Kings and Queens are in service to humanity. And now it is time to step onto the throne, radiate your Light and be of service in your own unique way.

Elves are inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's Catholic theology — as representing the state of Men in Eden who have not yet "fallen" — similar to humans but fairer and wiser, with greater spiritual powers, keener senses, and a closer empathy with nature. Tolkien wrote of them:

“ They are made by man in his own image and likeness; but freed from those limitations which he feels most to press upon him. They are immortal, and their will is directly effective for the achievement of imagination and desire."

SILVER BIRCH TOTEMS
Silver Birch is associated with bark that you can write upon, new invention (lots of uses for all the parts of the tree), brooms (clearing and shielding of energy).

Often planted in clusters of 3, associated with the Three Graces, Lady of the Wood and first tree in Celtic alphabet. The association with the number 3 has a few other important associations: the triad of deities, ancestors, and nature spirits is called the "Three Kindreds". There are other triads in Celtic Druidry, such as the "three realms" of the Underworld (associated with the ancestors), the Heavens (associated with the gods), and this world (associated with the nature spirits); these are similar to the three worlds of the Celts, and to the Norse realms of Niflheim, Asgard, and Midgard. There are also three parts to this world; the Land, the Sea, and the Sky. Elven, Fae Realms implicated – Elven Star or Heptogram (seven pointed star).
